Who is Bill Wetherell?

Bill Wetherell is Senior Director of UX Design for AOL Mail. In past lives he's led design teams at TechTV, the Walt Disney Internet Group, and Infoseek. And way before all that, he studied film at San Francisco State University - which is why he often talks in film metaphors and loves disaster movies. 

What is the talk about?

In October of 2012, AOL released Alto - a next generation email product centered around the philosophy that organization is beautiful. In this fireside chat, Bill Wetherell, Senior Director of UX Design for AOL Mail, will share the story of how Alto came to be, the design decisions that lead to it's genre-busting interface and how the team navigated both internal and external obstacles to create a brand new take on email interfaces.
